Past Life

Some of the weird things I did in a past life (ie: grad school).

These are few of the things I did in a past life—mostly in Grad School.

They may be a bit weird, but I had fun making them. Most artist websites tend to have an “artist statement.” This one won’t, but I can tell you that my main interest was to create work that would cause a reaction. Mostly so I could see what that reaction was and have fun with it. I am really for art that is not in a museum and that gets injected into the every day.

For example, I once danced with some of my friends for no reason other than to create a shock reaction around the trains in Boston and the Boston Public Library. Oh, and at some point I traveled across the USA doing weird “happenings” with my friends—that was for my MFA thesis. I had a friends pick a part of my body and one of theirs to connect with for an hour. I never knew what body parts they’d choose until I saw them. I live streamed these happenings.

I also had a sculpture of a phone bench. People would sit on the bench and the bench would automatically call me—Insert booty call jokes here. Then I would call the bench and the old analog phone on the bench would ring. If a person picked it up then I’d greet them with “Hello Stranger”—a line I chose from my favorite movie. Then we’d talk about when was the last time they had a serious talk with someone and what it meant for them.

In all honesty, I can talk about my art all day… so just watch the videos and if you have questions just get in touch.
